Leash Manners Mini Course
This is a 3-week mini course that focuses strictly on leash manners, including the following behaviors:
  • How to walk at your side without pulling.
  • How to pass by distractions.
  • How to prevent and eliminate non-aggressive lunging.

Please note: This class should be for dogs that are **not** aggressive, as the work for modifying a dog with aggressive lunging/pulling is different than what it is for just your everyday puller.

  • Price: $97.50 for courses starting in 2009. $112.50 for courses starting in 2010.
  • Instructor: Debbie Bickford, one of Chicago's premier dog trainers.

  • Ages: 5 months and older
  • Prerequisite: Must have passed our Polite Puppy or Good Manners 1 course (or basic obedience training with a reputable trainer)

  • Maximum class size: 8.
  • What to bring: A 6-foot leash (flexileads are not recommended) and favorite treats. A treat bag is recommended. Prong collars are not allowed in class.
  • Positive reinforcement only: As with all training classes at Tucker Pup's, this class uses only positive reinforcement techniques such as treats and praise. We do not use shock collars or dominance methods to achieve success.
