Tucker Pup's has a premier facility in an ideal location and top-notch equipment, including a state-of-the-art grooming room. We are also committed to providing world-class customer service, in addition to creating a great working environment that is fun, healthy, and positive. Transportation options:

Parking is available for employees.
CTA Green and Pink line - Clinton Stop. The Green line connects to Clark and Lake (one stop away) and is therefore accessible by all the other lines.
CTA Blue line - Grand Stop.
CTA buses - Routes 65, 8, and 20 are the closest.
We are just a short walk from the Loop.

Positions Available

Basic Requirements of all Candidates

All candidates must possess the following traits:

First and foremost, you must be passionate about dogs. It's what we're all about.
Professional appearance. Please note that our dress code does not allow for facial piercings, excessive tattoos, oversized ear lobe earrings, or dyed hair.
Professional experience and knowledge in properly handling dogs (this doesn't just mean that you had a dog while growing up or that you simply "like dogs"). Relevant professional experience includes daycare or kennel handler, vet assistant, trainer's assistant, dog walker, groomer, and so forth.
Very personable and professional with customers at all times.
You must have a positive attitude and work well with other people. We have a no-jerks policy and we intend to stick to it, regardless of how talented or hard-working you may be. ;-)
Ability to handle dogs in a positive way while commanding their respect. Verbal or physical abuse of any dog at any time will not be tolerated.
"Presence" with the dogs, meaning they know you are in charge and are not a pushover.
Responsible, reliable, and prompt. We have a "three-strikes" rule because in a retail environment, failure on any of these factors is not an option.

Full and Part-Time Groomer

Job description: Tucker Pup's has a state-of-the-art grooming room that is one of the finest and fastest-growing in Chicago. We have capacity for up to three groomers at once, two large tubs with automatic shampoo dispensers, a commercial washer/dryer right in the grooming room, a large cage bank, all new equipment, comfortable rubber flooring, and tons of natural light.

We are seeking an experienced groomer to help continue to grow the department.

The ideal candidate will possess the following characteristics:

All of the characteristics mentioned in the section above called "Basic Requirements of all Candidates."
Lots of experience in a grooming shop, with the ability to produce great results across all breeds.
You are expected to provide your own blades and related equipment.

Pay rate: To be discussed.

Perk: Free daycare for your dog (limit 1 dog per employee at a time). Your dog must pass basic screening evaluation in order to be admitted, and is subject to same rules as all other dogs.

Dog Handler

Job description: We are currently seeking a dog handler for boarding and daycare.

The job involves interacting with the dogs to help them get plenty of exercise, socialization, and love, while minimizing aggressiveness and any potential skirmishes. We provide the swimming pools, playground equipment, and a bunch of playful dogs - you supply the interaction and fun. The goal from a daycare perspective is that they go home each night truly tired and happy. Each employee also has various boarding responsibilities such as making sure the dogs are fed and brought into the daycare environment each day, plus all employees give baths and trim nails.

The ideal candidate will possess the following characteristics:

Schedule:

Option 1: Schedule is TBD. Full time shift from 10:30am-7:30pm

Option 1: Schedule is TBD. The position is part time with 24 to 32 hours per week
